Russian missile strikes across Ukraine kill 10 people

A series of Russian missile strikes across multiple Ukrainian regions killed at least 10 civilians and wounded dozens more. The strikes targeted residential buildings in Kharkiv, Dnipro, and Zaporizhzhia. Ukraine’s Air Force intercepted 18 of 32 incoming missiles, but several hypersonic missiles evaded air defenses.

NATO and EU officials condemned the strikes. Ukraine renewed calls for additional Patriot air defense systems from its Western allies.

IRGC strikes US targets in Kuwait

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched drone and missile strikes against US military facilities in Kuwait early Friday. US Central Command reported that American and Kuwaiti air defenses intercepted most projectiles. The attack follows an Israeli airstrike near Damascus that killed a senior IRGC commander.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken convened an emergency NSC meeting. Kuwait called for an emergency GCC session. The US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain has been placed on enhanced alert.

Pacific – Australia may loosen attendance requirements at UN climate event

Australia is expected to relax travel and attendance requirements for Pacific Island delegations at upcoming UN climate conferences, responding to sustained pressure from island nations. The policy shift would allow accredited Pacific climate officials to attend events without individual visa interviews.

Fiji’s Prime Minister welcomed the change as a significant step toward climate justice. Australia has also pledged an additional $200 million in climate adaptation funding for the region.
